Exhibition Highlights — A New Cultural Experience Where “NBA x ART” Converge
This exhibition is an attempt to reconstruct the “memories and passion” of the NBA through the lens of art. On display will be curated items from the personal collection of Chuta Hakamada—who was featured in TASCHEN’s world-renowned publication, World’s Greatest Sneaker Collectors.
Featured Masterpieces:
- The “100 Million Yen Basketball”: The actual basketball used in the tip-off of Kobe Bryant’s final NBA All-Star Game.
- Kobe Bryant Game-Worn Collection: Approximately 50 game-worn jerseys, including those registered in official NBA databases.
- Nike Air Force 1 “Bespoke”: 30 pairs of one-of-a-kind sneakers, custom-crafted in New York, Portland (Nike HQ), and London.

Special Displays:
We will also showcase historically significant jerseys worn by Japanese NBA players, capturing their most iconic moments:
- Rui Hachimura’s NBA Debut Jersey (Oct 23, 2019).
- The “Japanese Showdown” Jersey: Worn by Hachimura during his first matchup against Yuta Watanabe after joining the Lakers (Jan 30, 2023).
- The First Encounter: Jersey worn during Hachimura’s first game against LeBron James (Nov 29, 2019).
These pieces transcend the realm of sports, presenting a new value that allows them to be appreciated as true works of art.
Through this exhibition, we hope that NBA fans, art enthusiasts, and especially the children who dream of the future can experience the “Mamba Mentality”—the belief that hard work and passion pave the way to the future.
